“Whoa, dude!”

One of two huge cranes is pictured here on 8th April 2004 at the site of the initial Toon Studio expansion, comprising Crush’s Coaster and Cars Quatre Roues Rallye. The foundations of the main Studio 5 building can already be seen — and even before the walls rise up around its sides, the first track has been installed!

The entrance and exit (left and right respectively) into this, the “coaster”, portion of the ride can clearly be seen. The Imagineering-designed add-on at the front, incorporating the custom load area, outside drop and dark ride scenes is still in the “digging” phase.

This photo was taken from the raised lookout at the side of Flying Carpets Over Agrabah, which at this point still offered an unusual view right over the park’s backstage area, including the “ImagiNations” Cast Member costuming and services building at the side of the park, which was finally hidden by the completed expansions.
