Pictured in June 1994, the lagoon of Les Mystères du Nautilus bubbles away as the first completed part of Discoveryland’s major expansion. The walkthrough attraction opened a year before its roller coaster partner, adding much-needed extra capacity to the park.

Notice that the Columbiad Cannon has yet to arrive in the background, though work is progressing well on the loading station structure for what was at this time known as “Discovery Mountain”.
