3rd April 2007. The “Tower of Terror effect” is already fully visible in Production Courtyard, as this previously barren land is given an incredible hulk of a Disney attraction on its horizon.
Pictured here just a couple of days after the launch of the 15th Anniversary, construction has brought all the tower’s domes and is moving on to the first splashes of yellow paint, roof tiles and Pueblo Deco details. Fans debated for months the final colour of the Tower, which did indeed end up slightly darker than that seen here, once weathering was added.
Notice the old Studio Tram Tour entrance and La Terrasse area to the left, which has just been surrounded by fences after the surprise announcement several months earlier that the area would be transformed into a miniature Hollywood Boulevard district.
