In 1993, guests received rather more than a simple fold-out map when they walked under Main Street Station. This lavish, exhaustive stapled booklet — tagged the “Guest Guidebook” — introduced every land and every aspect of Euro Disneyland. Listing not only attractions — with full descriptions for each — but also restaurants and boutiques, it was a dream for fans and collectors but probably not such a winner on environmental or cost terms. Notice the pages given over just to advertising at the back of the booklet, with cross-overs for new Disney Video releases. Also, much attention is given to the Euro Disney Resort Hotels, advertising the fact that guests can stay overnight. Day visitors to the parks these days are given little idea of the hotels on offer, but could this simply be because they so struggled to fill rooms back in 1993? |
