In the April 1990 issue of cast magazine En Coulisse, the front cover looks at the “guest entry sequence” of the future resort, exploring the route visitors will take from the toll plaza to the park entrance with a concept image of the old ‘Euro Disneyland’ entrance. Imagineers stand over a plan of the railway station and shuttle bus area. Inside, the Marketing department win an award and host their first partner conference, whilst a photograph reveals construction on the ‘Magic Kingdom Hotel’ has begun. Originally, the resort was to be known as ‘Euro Disneyland’, the park as the ‘Magic Kingdom’. It was only much later in construction that the shorter ‘Euro Disney’ name appeared and the park itself became ‘Euro Disneyland’. |
