Le Passage Enchanté d’Aladdin opens

The story of Aladdin is brought to life with a brand new walkthrough attraction in Adventureland. Including nine miniature animated scenes with a single entrance opposite La Girafe Curieuse boutique, the attraction takes up space in Adventureland Bazaar through which guests were previously free to roam, breaking for the first time the “dry route” guests could follow right through the length of the park from Liberty Arcade to Peter Pan’s Flight. The route was further taken over in 1999 with the opening of another Aladdin-themed addition, Agrabah Café, in the opposite area of the Bazaar previously a covered shopping arcade.

The walkthrough became part of a programme to boost capacity within the park on a modest budget, with other additions including Legends of the Wild West in Fort Comstock and La Galerie de la Belle au Bois Dormant in Sleeping Beauty Castle.
